    The team at Physio Health Clinic is led by Andrew Michaels, an experienced physiotherapist who has been involved in rehabilitation for a range of conditions from strokes, to sporting injuries, to common back or neck pain.

    He has recent experience working in hospital settings with neurological conditions as well as musculoskeletal conditions in private practice and sporting environments. Since graduating from the University of Sydney with a Master of Physiotherapy degree, Andrew has worked in a range of environments with a large variety of clients and conditions. His treatment and approach to rehabilitation are evidence-based with a combination of hands-on treatment, advice/education and exercises to tailor treatment plans for your specific goals.

    Andrew has a special interest in sporting injuries and has spent his fair share of time in the gym rehabilitating himself and on the physio bed receiving treatment. He has successfully returned to sport from many sporting injuries involving the shoulder, wrists, back and two lengthy knee reconstructions. Andrew is an advocate for an active lifestyle and regular exercise and has played many different sports in the past. His current sports of choice include cricket, oztag and golf. He attends the gym regularly and makes yearly appearances at the snow to snowboard.

    You will be confident that you are in the right hands as Andrew is continually updating his knowledge and undertakes frequent professional development courses. He is the perfect partner to get you back to what you love doing as soon as possible.

    Katie

    Physiotherapist

    Katie has completed both a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) and a Bachelor of Health Science degree.

    Katie enjoys walking alongside with her patients in their recovery journey and is dedicated to assisting them in achieving their goals. Katie is particularly interested in shoulder and hand injuries. She also has a keen interest in Women’s Health and is currently completing further study in this area.

    Katie loves being being outdoor and enjoys exploring new running routes in Sydney. She believes it is important to maintain a good healthy lifestyle.

    Rachel

    Master of Exercise Physiology

    Rachel has played a wide variety of sports and understands the need for the body to be at the highest physical and mental condition to perform at its peak. Before completing her studies, Rachel played soccer for a number of years and completed her career playing super league level. With her love of health and fitness, she went on to graduate with an applied Exercise Physiology degree from the University of Sydney.

    After completing her studies Rachel took up running, and in 2015 completed the New York City Marathon. She has since taken part in several Sydney running events over the years. Rachel has represented the Australian Heart Foundation in a few runs and has raised vital funds for cardiovascular research. Rachel also has a number of years’ experience as a swimming coach; teaching from beginner level to squads and stroke correction. Rachel now uses her experience when training her clients and understands the importance to plan and prepare no matter what level to achieve your goals.

    Rachel understands that the knowledge of the human body is forever increasing and the ability to use science to achieve the best results for the client is crucial. Rachel’s specialties include neurological conditions, chronic disease prevention and management, women’s health, pre and post injury rehabilitation and postural correction. She also has clinical experience in delivering Medicare Enhanced Primary Care plans (EPC) and Department of Veteran’s Affairs plans (DVA).
